Student Practicum Program

 

Overview

The aim of the Tertiary Sports W.A. Student Practicum Program is to provide a link between University and TAFE students studying Human Movement, Sport Science, Health Promotion and Event Management and State Sporting Associations, Universities, Clubs and Events for the purpose of creating field placement opportunities for students required to complete practicum requirements.

 

How the Program Works

Tertiary Sports W.A. obtains information from State Sporting Associations, University Sport & Recreation Providers, Schools, Clubs and Events on opportunities that exist for Prac Students to gain valuable practical experience in the field.

Future Prospects and Success of the Program

A number of students who have been involved in events and practicum placements have successfully gained employment either with the organizations they were place with or other organizations in the industry as a result of the Program.

In turn, organizations involved in the Program have benefited by successfully filling positions within their organization by employing students once they have completed their studies.  Students have successfully been employed by UWA Sport & Recreation Association, ECU Sports, Hockey W.A. and Sydney University Sports Association.

Students

Register your interest in completing your practicum/field placement requirements with the TSWA Student Practicum Program by completing the Student Practicum Registration of Interest Form and faxing it to 9383 9654 or posting it to Tertiary Sports W.A. c/- UWA Sport & Recreation Association, M412 Stirling Highway, Crawley WA 6009 or by e-mailing TSWA at tswa@sport.uwa.edu.au
